Personally the results are not that surprising as I've felt this way since my first programming gig but I know it's surprising to some, especially managers that have not been around software development that much. The same type of info is also expressed in Joal Spolsky's book Smart and Gets Things Done. Which is a great book and a must read for anyone who participates in hiring resources for technical jobs.
